How We Detail a Tesla
Teslas and other EVs need a different kind of care. Here is how we handle the details that matter most:
- Car Wash Mode first. We ask you to turn on Car Wash Mode (Controls, then Service) so windows lock, wipers stay off and the car does not try to lock or move while we work.
- Hand wash only. A careful hand wash and spot-free rinse, with care around the charge port and sensors.
- Glass roof and windows. Streak-free glass inside and out, including the large roof that bakes in Arizona sun and shows hard water spots.
- Touchscreen and tech surfaces. Microfiber and gentle cleaners only, no harsh chemicals on screens or piano black trim.
- Wheels and aero covers. Cleaned and dressed without scratching the finish.
White Seat Cleaning and Protection
White vegan leather looks great until jean dye, sunscreen and coffee find it. Tesla recommends a soft cloth with water and non-detergent soap, and that is how we start: gentle products, soft brushes and no harsh degreasers that dry out the surface. Protect New Tesla Paint in the Desert
Just took delivery? A new car is the best time to protect the paint, before the first summer and the first bad wash. A decontamination wash plus ceramic coating gives you gloss, easier cleaning and UV protection. Do you need to charge or plug in during the detail?
No. The car just needs to be parked where we can reach it and unlocked or accessible.
Is a tunnel car wash safe for a Tesla?
Automated washes can scratch paint and leave hard water spots, and brushes can catch trim and sensors. A hand wash is the safest option, especially on dark paint.
Can you get jean dye out of white seats?
Fresh dye transfer usually comes out with gentle cleaning. Older, set-in stains may lighten rather than disappear. We will tell you what to expect before we start.
Should I ceramic coat a new Tesla?
If you plan to keep it a few years and park outside, coating is worth it in Arizona. It makes washing easier and protects against UV. Coatings start at $215.
