Mobile Detailing Basics
What is mobile auto detailing?
Mobile auto detailing means our professional detailers come directly to your home, office, or apartment anywhere in Mesa and the Phoenix East Valley. You get a full-service detail without driving to a shop or waiting in a lobby. We bring the water, power, products, and equipment.
Is mobile detailing as effective as going to a detailing shop?
Yes. ShineCo uses the same professional-grade products, machines, and techniques you would find in a high-end detail shop, delivered at your driveway. Our technicians are trained to produce shop-quality results on site, and you skip the drive and the wait. See the results for yourself in our gallery.
What services does ShineCo offer?
We offer interior detailing, exterior detailing, ceramic coatings, paint correction, headlight restoration, upholstery detailing, RV and boat detailing, plus add-ons like pet hair removal, odor elimination, engine bay detailing, steam cleaning, and overspray and tar removal. Every package is tailored to your vehicle and its condition.
What makes ShineCo different from other mobile detailers in the Phoenix area?
We use spot-free water to prevent streaks and water spots, premium soaps, waxes, and coatings, and we tailor every service to your vehicle instead of running a one-size-fits-all car wash routine. ShineCo is licensed, insured, and top rated across the East Valley, and every job is backed by our satisfaction guarantee.
Do I need to be present during the service?
No. Many of our Mesa, Gilbert, and Chandler customers have us detail their car while they work. Just leave the vehicle accessible, share any access instructions, and we handle the rest. If you have specific concerns, being available by phone is all we need.
Service Area & Logistics
What areas do you serve?
ShineCo Mobile Detailing is based in Mesa, AZ and serves the entire Phoenix East Valley and greater Valley, including Gilbert, Chandler, Tempe, Queen Creek, Apache Junction, Scottsdale, and surrounding communities. See our Service Area page for the full list, or call (480) 448-2888 to confirm we cover your neighborhood.
Do you need access to water or electricity at my location?
No. Our detailing units are fully self-contained with their own water tanks and power, so we can detail your vehicle at homes, offices, and apartment complexes across the Valley without hooking up to anything. If your location has restrictions, let us know when booking and we will plan around them.
Can you detail my car at my office or apartment complex?
Yes. We regularly detail vehicles at workplaces and apartment communities throughout Mesa, Tempe, and Scottsdale. All we need is a legal parking spot with enough room to work. If your complex has rules about vendors, check with management first and we will coordinate.
Can you work in a parking garage?
Usually yes, as long as there is adequate clearance, lighting, and permission from the property. Covered garages are actually a plus during Arizona summers. Mention the garage when booking so we send the right setup.
Booking, Scheduling & Payment
How do I book an appointment?
Book online in minutes, request a fast quote on our contact page, or call or text (480) 448-2888. Most quotes take under a minute.
How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking 2 to 5 days out, especially for weekends and for larger jobs like ceramic coatings or RV detailing. Same-week openings are often available, so call if you need something sooner.
How much does mobile detailing cost in the Phoenix area?
Pricing depends on vehicle size, condition, and the package you choose. Visit our Pricing page for current rates on interior, exterior, and full details, or request a fast quote and we will price your exact vehicle. Ask about our Detail to Door Deluxe Protection Package for the best value.
Do you offer any discounts or package deals?
Yes. Bundling services saves you money, and we run seasonal specials like our Detail to Door Deluxe Protection Package. Ask about current promotions when you request a quote.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit and debit cards and other standard payment methods through our secure customer portal. Payment is collected after the job is complete and you have looked over the work.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
Life happens. Just give us at least one business day of notice and we will reschedule with no cancellation fee. See our terms and conditions for full details.
Can you detail my vehicle if the weather is bad?
We work through most Arizona weather, but heavy rain, dust storms, or monsoon conditions can affect exterior work. If weather interferes, we will contact you and reschedule at the next available time that works for you.
How do I prepare my vehicle for the appointment?
Park in an accessible spot, ideally shaded, with room for us to work, and remove personal items from the interior. That is it. If you have specific problem areas like stains, pet hair, or scratches, mention them beforehand so we come prepared.
Exterior Detailing
What does exterior mobile detailing include?
Our exterior detailing includes a hand wash with premium soaps and spot-free water, wheel and tire cleaning, clay bar decontamination to remove embedded grime, and a protective wax or sealant for shine and defense against the Arizona sun. Paint correction and ceramic coating upgrades are available.
How long does an exterior detail take?
Most exterior details take 2 to 4 hours depending on vehicle size and condition. We give you an estimated time when you book so you can plan your day.
Can you remove hard water spots and monsoon dust?
Yes. Hard water etching and caked monsoon dust are two of the most common paint problems we see in the Valley. We use spot-free water, decontamination washes, and polishing where needed to remove buildup without scratching your finish.
Interior Detailing
What does your interior detailing service include?
Our interior detail includes thorough vacuuming of carpets, seats, and upholstery, deep cleaning of the dashboard, console, and door panels, steam cleaning for stains and odors, leather conditioning, and protective coatings to guard against UV fading and daily wear.
How long does an interior detail take?
A standard interior detail takes 2 to 4 hours. Vehicles with heavy staining, pet hair, or odors may take longer, and we will give you an accurate estimate up front.
Are your cleaning products safe for children and pets?
Yes. We use eco-friendly, non-toxic products that are tough on dirt but leave no harmful residue behind, so your interior is clean and safe for kids, pets, and everyone in between.
Can you remove tough stains and persistent odors?
Yes. Our steam cleaning technology and professional-grade solutions handle coffee spills, pet accidents, smoke odor, and more. For deep-set smells, ask about our odor elimination treatment. Tell us about the problem when booking and we will bring the right treatment.
How often should I get my interior detailed?
Every 6 to 12 months for most drivers. If you commute daily, haul kids or pets, or eat in your car, every 3 to 6 months keeps the interior fresh and prevents permanent staining. The Arizona sun also breaks down interior surfaces faster, so regular upholstery care and conditioning protects your dash and seats.
Ceramic Coatings
What is a ceramic coating and how does it work?
A ceramic coating is a liquid polymer that chemically bonds with your paint to form a durable, hydrophobic protective layer. It shields against UV rays, hard water, road grime, and contaminants while adding deep gloss and making the car far easier to wash. In Arizona, it is one of the best investments you can make in your paint.
How long does a ceramic coating last?
Quality professional coatings last 2 to 5 years, with premium options lasting even longer. Proper maintenance washing extends the life of the coating.
Is ceramic coating better than wax or sealant?
Yes. Wax needs constant reapplication, especially under Arizona sun. A ceramic coating bonds to the paint for years of protection, resists chemicals and UV damage far better, and sheds water and dust so washes are faster and less frequent.
Should I apply a ceramic coating myself or hire a professional?
Professional application gets dramatically better results. Coatings require meticulous paint prep, often including polishing, and precise application to bond correctly. DIY kits applied over unprepped paint lock in imperfections. Our certified process ensures the coating performs for its full lifespan.
How do I maintain a ceramic coating?
Wash regularly with a pH-neutral shampoo, avoid automatic car washes with harsh brushes and chemicals, and schedule periodic inspections. The hydrophobic surface makes maintenance washes quick, and we can set you up with a maintenance plan.
Is ceramic coating worth it in Arizona?
Absolutely. Between intense UV exposure, monsoon dust, and hard water, Arizona is brutal on paint. A ceramic coating is the single best defense against sun fading, water spotting, and oxidation, and it keeps resale value higher. Compare package options on our pricing page.
Paint Correction
What is paint correction and why is it necessary?
Paint correction removes swirl marks, light scratches, oxidation, and water spots through machine polishing, restoring your paint’s original depth and clarity. It is essential before ceramic coating and for any vehicle whose finish has dulled from sun exposure and everyday wear.
How long does paint correction take?
Anywhere from a few hours to a full day depending on paint condition and the level of correction. We assess your vehicle first and give you an accurate estimate.
Will paint correction remove all scratches?
It removes or dramatically reduces swirl marks, light scratches, and oxidation. Deep scratches that penetrate the clear coat may need touch-up or repair work, and we will tell you honestly what is achievable during the assessment.
How do I maintain my finish after paint correction?
Wash with pH-balanced soap, avoid abrasive brushes and drive-through washes, keep a wax, sealant, or ceramic coating on the paint, and park in shade or use a cover when possible to limit Arizona UV exposure. We will give you product recommendations for your specific finish.
Is paint correction warrantied?
We back our paint correction with a satisfaction guarantee. If anything about the finish concerns you after the service, contact us and we will make it right.
RV & Boat Detailing
How long does RV or boat detailing take?
A full interior and exterior RV or boat detail typically takes 3 to 8 hours depending on size and condition. Heavy oxidation removal adds time. We give you a timeframe when scheduling and keep you updated.
How do I prepare my RV or boat for detailing?
Remove personal items and any gear you do not want cleaned, and make sure the RV or boat is accessible and parked where we have room to work. We handle everything else.
Can you fix heavy oxidation on my RV or boat?
Yes. Arizona sun oxidizes gelcoat and RV fiberglass fast. We use specialized compounds and machine polishing to restore heavily oxidized surfaces, then seal them to slow future UV damage. We assess the damage during inspection and recommend the right treatment level.
How often should I detail my RV or boat?
At least every 6 to 12 months. Vehicles stored outdoors in the Arizona sun or used in lake water benefit from more frequent service to keep oxidation and mineral staining from taking hold.
Headlight Restoration
What is headlight restoration and why does it matter?
Arizona UV exposure turns headlights foggy and yellow, which cuts nighttime visibility and ages the whole vehicle. Our headlight restoration process sands and polishes away oxidation, then seals the lens with a UV-resistant coating for lasting clarity and safer driving.
How long does headlight restoration take?
Typically 1 to 2 hours depending on how oxidized the lenses are.
How long do the results last?
Our UV-resistant sealant keeps lenses clear for years, far longer than DIY kits that haze back over within months in the Arizona sun. Regular washing helps extend the results.
Will restoration fix cracked or chipped headlights?
Restoration fixes surface oxidation, haze, and yellowing. Deep cracks or internal damage require replacement, and we will let you know if that is the case before you spend money on restoration.
Additional Services
Do you offer pet hair removal?
Yes. Pet hair removal embedded in carpet and upholstery is one of our most requested add-ons. We use specialized tools that pull hair standard vacuums leave behind.
Can you eliminate smoke or other stubborn odors?
Yes. Our odor elimination treatment targets the source instead of masking it, using steam cleaning and treatment products that neutralize smoke, pet, food, and mildew odors.
What is engine bay detailing and is it safe?
Engine bay detailing safely degreases and dresses the engine compartment. Our technicians protect sensitive electrical components throughout the process, leaving a clean bay that makes leaks easier to spot and boosts resale presentation.
Can you remove paint overspray or tar?
Yes. We remove overspray, tar, sap, and other bonded contaminants using clay treatment and safe solvents without damaging your clear coat.
What is steam cleaning used for?
Steam cleaning sanitizes and deep cleans upholstery, carpet, and hard surfaces using heat instead of harsh chemicals. It is our go-to for stains, odors, and germ-prone areas like cup holders, vents, and child seats.
